Lester Levin

Lester Levin was born in 1929 in Louisville, and was the youngest of six children. He says that his  parents were very good planners because they had a girl, then a  boy, then a girl, then a  boy, then a girl, and then another boy, Lester.

His family started Gold Seal Pest Control in 1930, and it’s remained in the family ever since then. To this day, Lester remains an active part of the family business, and is proud of its longevity and success. KI is glad to use Lester’s business for its own pest control needs.

When he heard that Keneseth Israel was planning a gala to celebrate Jewish veterans, he stopped by the office to say that he had proudly served in the American army. He  used his time in the army to visit many cities throughout Europe, and even had a chance to meet the Pope on one of his visits to Italy.

Lester is proud that he is able to give back to the community he has been a part of for so many years. He made a major philanthropic donation to Keneseth Israel to establish the Lester M. Levin Cemetery Beautification Fund which helps maintain the KI cemetery. Lester says that he appreciates whenever someone makes a donation to this very important fund.

It is always a pleasure when Lester pops by the KI office to say hi to everyone — his humor and smile always brightens everyone’s day, and he’s sure to share a story or two about the good old days. Thank you, Lester, for being part of the KI family!
