Cori with her brothers Steven and Jordan

Member Spotlight:

Cori Roth

Cori Roth proudly calls herself a “KI kid” – she not only grew up at Keneseth Israel, but her family has been a member at KI for several generations. This strong connection to KI makes her new election to the synagogue’s Board of Directors all the more special for her. She has always been active at KI, but recently has increased her volunteering due to her love of her shul. She has become active in the membership and programming committees, and in general throws her hat in the ring whenever called upon.

She says that her position as a special education teacher at JCPS’ Churchill Park School isn’t just a job – it’s a rewarding and meaningful career. Cori feels that she was born to be a teacher – it is more of a calling than anything.

In addition to her special education position, she teaches at Louisville Beit Sefer Yachad,  Louisville’s Jewish/Hebrew school. As a 5th grade teacher this year, she looks forward to imparting her passion towards Judaism, Hebrew, and Israel with her students. Cori is proud to be able to utilize her BA in Jewish Studies from American University and her MAT in Special Education (students with moderate and severe disabilities) from the University of Louisville.

In her spare time (which she doesn’t have a whole lot of!) she enjoys movies, reading, playing board games, and hanging out with family and friends. She recently celebrated her brother Steven’s marriage to Beth Mishkind. Her other brother Jordan is a student at the College of Charleston. She has a large family, many of whom are active at Keneseth Israel, including immediate family members Alan Roth, Sheri Roth, Faye Weinberg, Sylvia Weinberg, and Shirley Paul, as well as an extended family too large to count.

Keneseth Israel is so fortunate to have this KI kid as a member of the KI family!
